Jobs for September
WE RECOMMEND SHOWA 600
September generally marks the time for preparing for the winter months ahead.

Keep ontop of ‘tidying’ your garden, flower stems, mildewy leaves, previously unnoticed weeds, early falling leaves and twigs seem to decorate the lawns at this time of the year.

Take cuttings from shrubs - a great time for easy plants.

Plant your bulbs now for a good display next year and put bulbs in pots - ready for forcing.

Get your winter pansies, wallflowers and other spring bedding planted.

Repair any bad patches on the lawn and feed with autumn feed. If required, lay any new lawn, turf or seed.

Get your winter hanging baskets and planters sorted.

Dead-head your perennials - cut back all dead growth.

Clean off the greenhouse shading as the light levels will start to drop now.

TOP TIP - if needed, September is a good month for moving conifers and everlight-blues, but only if they are not too established.
