This month is the start of the gardeners new year, leaves will have finally fallen and most plants will have become dormant.
This is an ideal time to move many trees and shrubs into new positions and to plant new ones so that they become established before the winter really sets in.
All planting out should be completed this month – plant out all winter bedding aswell as tulip bulbs for a spring display.
Clear up fallen leaves - especially from lawns, ponds and beds.
Build a seasonal bonfire (where this is allowed), to dispose of excess debris unfit for composting.
Insulate the greenhouse from the frost, TOP TIP - bubblewrap works well.
